Humans’ natural selfishness breeds the need for Economics: it is the study of how to allocate scarce resources. However, it matters far more than it may sound; Economics influences all walks of life. At a time when the world changes rapidly, it is pivotal for young people, like us here at the Perceiver, to be critical of existing economic theories, policies and institutions, in order to improve the society in which we live.
